Trusting you and other lies (ARC from Netgalley)

Trusting You & Other Lies by Nicole Williams

Rating: 3/5

Summary: (x)

My Thoughts:

Thank you to netgalley for the arc of the book on the kindle. That being said I was not a big fan of the book. I know other readers will love this book but I just could not get into it. The summer camp setting was a really great idea that I wish was better explored.  The main character was not very interesting and I felt that dragged the story down.

Plot:
The plot was not very well thought out and made the book drag.  The summer camp was a great plot device that I wished was better used. I liked the way the story revolved around the activities at the camp,

Characters:

Phoenix was a very annoying character who could have been better. I love her little brother Harry who made the story so exciting. I did not like her parents they were selfish and rude. Callum was also not very likable.

All for the Game series by Nora Sakavic

The Raven King (All for the Game, #2)
The King's Men (All for the Game, #3)

Rating: 5/5

Summary : (x) for the first book

My thoughts:

I decided to do a review on the whole series at once instead of three separate reviews. It also gives me more room to discuss the series. The book series caught my eye on booklr and I decided to give it a read. I bought all three in ebook form and read them. I really did not like the series at first but I gave it a reread and I fell in love. The plot and characters are very well written. I could not put it down and I kept going back for more. The first book is 0.99 for the kindle.

Plot:

The plot kept me hooked and I could not put any of these books down. The plot revolved a fictional sport called exy which is interesting and brutal. The plot reveals the troubled pasts of the team members and how it affects the team. There are lots of plot twists and interesting facts being revealed throughout the series. These are fast paced and addictive novels that I wanted more of.

Characters:

Niel Josten is the main character and the story revolves around his past. Another character featured in the story is Andrew Minyard who is an antagonist to neil for the first part of the story. Kevin is  also another character who is hard to like. The rest of the foxes are complex characters who add to the story.

Girl out of water by Laura Silverman (ARC provided by Netgalley)

Girl Out of Water

Rating:5/5

Summary: (x)

My thoughts:

Thank you netgalley for providing me with a copy to read. I read the summary and thought I would give it a read. This book did not disappoint and I loved it so much! The diversity in this was amazing and I wish more young adult novels had it like this book.  Anise is an interesting main character who I really liked. This is a  book I would highly recommend.

Plot:

The plot is her story as she spends the summer in Nebraska instead of Cali with her friends.  It tells how she adjusts to not being with her friends and watching her  cousins.  She is in Nebraska because of her aunt and what happened to her, At first Anise hates it but she meets Lincoln at a skate park and the summer becomes more bearable. The book tells the events of the whole summer.

Characters:
Anise is a well written character who I can sympathize with. The author wrote her realistically and easy to relate to. I loved her group of friends they were all interesting and fun to read about. I loved her family as well. Lincoln was a fun character who helped Anise be okay while staying in Nebraska and their relationship develops into something more.

I'll give you the sun

I'll Give You the Sun

Rating: 5/5

Summary: (x)

My Thoughts:
I have heard about this book from multiple bloggers and read the really good reviews. So I checked it out from the library. That was a brilliant idea since this book was so good and I could not put it down. This books was funny, heartbreaking, and well written. I cannot say enough about how good this book was. I would recommend getting a copy as soon as possible.

Plot:
The plot was about a set of twins in two parts of their lives at 13 and 16 years old. The twins alternate points of views and tell the story as they saw it. There is drama and misunderstandings that make story real. The plot explains the twins and their relationship.

Characters:
Noah and Jude were so well written and felt real. They grew as the book went on and we saw their mistakes. They learned as they grew up and became the people they are at the end of the book. The supporting characters were also well written and added to the story.

Illuminae

Rating: 5/5
Summary: (x)
My Thoughts:
At first I was unsure of this book because of the format the book was written in. It is a combination  of word docs, illustrations and texts. The format works really well for the story and it  made the story interesting. I cannot wait to start the next book. I cannot say enough about this book.

The plot was well written and very gripping. It was really good and full of action. I could not put this book down and it kept bringing me in. The plot and the format of the book worked so well together. The format made the plot come to life.

Characters:
The main character, Kady, is well written and a very interesting character. I loved her voice and how she told the story. Ezra was also a good character also. The other supporting characters were good as well.
